R&D News DSI and the University of Cincinnati (USA) initiated a research on the degree of aggregation of silica fillers. It was the first time in the industry when it was shown how mechanical properties of silica filled rubber compounds reveal correlation with a degree of aggregation of silica particles. In common practice structure of carbon black and silica fillers is associated with DBP number. The cooperation between our company and this institution resulted in a paper «New Generation Precipitated Silica for Elastomer Reinforcement» by Doug J. Kohls and Dale  W. Schaefer, UC; Ephraim Feinblum, Andrey Vorobiev, DSI, 2006. The paper was presented to the scientific community at the 170-th Fall of American Rubber Division in Cincinnatti on 10-12 October, 2006.
