Green Tire Technology
The silica technology enables the production of high-performance tires with lower rolling resistance. Lower rolling resistance results in better fuel economy and lower environment impact. The silica technology provides tires with
Good abrasion resistance,
Reduced rolling resistance,
Better grip on wet/ice surfaces,
Better overall balance of the "magic triangle" properties.
Green tires first emerged as a concept in the 1990s when tire engineers discovered that if they used silane-treated silica as a reinforcing filler in tread compounds, instead of the traditional carbon black, tire rolling resistance was improved.
Any of DSI's products can be tailored to suit your needs and manufacturing process requirements. Our Rubber Team will be happy to provide you with R&D assistance in formulas development and even adapting "green" tire technology.
Our Rubber Division is a part of an in-house R&D Centre, headed by Dr. Raissa Kosso, the top rubber technologist with over 35 years of experience in the rubber industry and tire manufacturing. Dr. Kosso is Russia's leading expert in the rubber reinforcement field.
